There are several areas of Salisbury with a police presence this evening (5th May), including road closures and reports of evacuations following an assault in Firsdown this afternoon.
There was a road closure in place on Bishopdown Road, with a statement stating, "Please note Bishopdown Road is currently closed due to an ongoing incident. Please avoid the area and seek an alternative route."
Police helicopters have been seen circling parts of Salisbury for several hours this evening.

There is also a police presence at Spire View in the city centre, with police cars blocking the entrance to the estate. A bomb disposal unit has been in attendance, but Salisbury Radio now believe that has been stood down with "all deemed safe". However, there will be a police presence at Spire View overnight.
Wiltshire Police provided Salisbury Radio with a short statement when contacted over the incidents, "At 4.45pm today, officers responded to a report that a woman had been seriously assaulted at an address in Firsdown, Salisbury.
"The woman has been taken to Hospital.
"No arrests have been made at this stage, however, extensive searches are currently ongoing and those living in the local area may see a heightened police presence during the evening as enquiries continue."
Wiltshire Police have confirmed to Salisbury Radio that all three incidents are linked.
All roads have reopened once again and Salisbury Radio have requested a further update from Wiltshire Police.
