Wilton Rotary's Charity Car Boot Sale returns this Bank Holiday Monday.
The event is back in the beautiful grounds of Wilton House on Bank Holiday Monday, 31st August 2026. Established in 1983, the event is claimed to be one of the biggest car boot sales in the south of the UK.
Last year, more than 5,000 buyers and 400 sellers came along to the 'Mammoth Car Boot', and organisers say it raised £28,000 for charity.
The event is run entirely by volunteers, with around 50 people giving up their Bank Holiday to make it happen and 'every pound raised' goes to help worthy local causes, including the Stars Appeal.
Club Secretary Andy Rhind-Tutt told Salisbury Radio, “The Mammoth Car Boot Sale, now in its 43rd year, is one of the most exhilarating, tiring, yet rewarding events we organise.
"We cannot thank our volunteers enough, and most importantly, the public who come along, enjoy a great day out and enable us to raise much-needed funds to support people in need in our community.”
Organisers are excited about the event and say 'it’s a great morning out for all the family – whether you’re clearing out the spare room, hunting for a bargain or simply enjoying the atmosphere'.
Sellers can arrive from 6.30am via Netherhampton Road.
Pitches are £20, or £40 for a large pitch.
Buyers gate opens at 8am for early birds at £10 and general admittance is £5 from 9am and £3 from 11am. Children go free.
A pedestrian entrance is also open at 8am via South Street, Sawmills.
The sale finishes at 1pm.
The event is held annually by kind permission of the Earl of Pembroke.
