International GB Event Rider Opens Yard for Special Open Day

International event rider Kirsty Chabert is inviting the local community behind the scenes at her Team Opposition eventing yard in Landford, Wiltshire, for a special Yard Open Day on Wednesday 26 August, from 11 am–3 pm.

The day will offer a rare opportunity to see inside a working international eventing yard, watch Kirsty training some of her horses and meet members of Team Opposition.

Among the horses you can meet and watch Classic VI (Betty), Kirsty’s hugely experienced five-star mare. Now 17, Betty has enjoyed an outstanding career at the top of the sport and continues to compete internationally, including winning the CCIO4-S at Bicton* this season as part of a victorious Nations Cup British team.

Visitors will be able to watch training demonstrations, learn more about how event horses are produced and prepared for competition, meet the horses and team, and take part in a Q&A with Kirsty.

Kirsty said, “We’re really looking forward to welcoming people into the yard. Eventing can sometimes feel quite removed from what people see, so it will be lovely to show everyone what goes on at home, introduce them properly to the horses and give people a really enjoyable day.”

Food and drink will be available as part of the day, alongside the opportunity to meet some of the brands associated with Team Opposition.

Standard tickets are £10 with a limited number of VIP tickets at £30, which include reserved table seating, afternoon tea and a glass of fizz, exclusive behind-the-scenes access, photo opportunities and a Team Opposition goodie bag.

25% of proceeds from the event will be donated to local charities
