In what can only be described as a plot twist worthy of a Saturday night results show, Strictly Come Dancing is rumoured to be moving its iconic Blackpool week… to Salisbury City Hall.
Yes. Strictly. In Salisbury.
The reason? Major refurbishment work is set to begin at the legendary Blackpool Tower Ballroom this October — and with the Strictly calendar about as flexible as a beginner’s cha-cha, producers have reportedly been forced to look elsewhere.
And… they’ve landed here in Salisbury.
Now, before you start picturing the Market Square filled with sequins, there’s more. Because this year’s series is already shaping up to be a little… different.
With several familiar professional dancers stepping away from the show, insiders say a brand-new troupe will be stepping in — and here’s the exclusive.
They’re called the "Ojo Polka Fliers".
A Russian-Ukrainian dance collective, no less, is described as “high-energy, slightly chaotic, and very fond of lifts that probably shouldn’t be attempted before 9pm.”
The celebrities? Still under wraps. But you can just imagine the training sessions now.
“Right, this week you’re doing a Viennese Waltz… while being spun upside down by someone called Igor.”
Producers are said to be “excited” about the change, while locals are already wondering if Salisbury is ready for the full Blackpool treatment — think glitter, drama, and at least one judge saying, “DARLING, that was ELECTRIC.”
And, if you suddenly see a spray tan shortage and an outbreak of sequins in the city centre, you’ll know why.
