Salisbury FC has launched an initiative to help boost literacy levels in collaboration with local primary schools.
The club are donating unsold match-day programmes to local schools to help inspire a love for reading.
For many children, particularly those who might find traditional books a bit daunting, the vibrant photos, player interviews, and stats in a football programme serve as a fantastic “hook.”
It’s a great way to show students that reading can be about the things they love.
We believe that the passion found on the pitch can be a powerful tool for learning.
The club says it is committed to being more than just a football club; to be a resource for the Salisbury community to help inspire the next generation of readers.
Commercial & Executive Operations Officer, Toby Pike, said, "I’m delighted that we’re able to offer local schools complimentary matchday programmes as a fun and engaging way to support reading
"At Salisbury Football Club, we’re focused on building a bigger and more inclusive audience, with a real emphasis on welcoming the younger generation
"Hopefully, initiatives like this can inspire young people, strengthen their connection to the club, and help create lifelong supporters for the future."
