Retro Music and 'Welly Wanging' at Durrington Rec this weekend

There’s a weekend of activities and fun at Durrington Rec on Recreation Road from tomorrow.

Although there’s a bar and hot food available, visitors are still welcome to bring their own picnic to Retro at the Rec on Saturday evening from 5.30pm. The music event features Salisbury Radio’s Disco Dion and DJ Paul Alex.

Then on Bank Holiday Sunday, the family 'Sunday Funday' event features races, inflatables and face-painting as well as 'Welly Wanging' and Tomahawk Throwing competitions.

Co-organiser Emma Spencer told Salisbury Radio “We are looking forward to Disco Dion & DJ Paul Alex bringing the ‘old skool’ tunes and party vibes to The Rec on Saturday night at which also features bingo and a raffle.

“Then Sunday between midday and 4pm, The Rec with be full of stalls, inflatables, rides, Zorbing, birds of prey, dance classes, character visits, the legendary tug of war and races and the big prize raffle at the end of the day.

“Disco Dion will be in the main arena entertaining the masses so a fab family arvo of fun to be had”.

Both events are £2 admission for adults.
