Wiltshire Police are investigating an incident of criminal damage which took place at a farm in Wilsford at around 12.20am on Sunday (10th November).
Suspected hare coursers have surrounded the victims, shot out the windows of their vehicle using catapults and rammed it several times.
It is believed that six vehicles were involved in this incident: one of them was a silver BMW X5, and the other was a Toyota Rav 4.
Officers are also aware of a video circulating on social media, and this will be fully investigated. At this early stage of enquiries, police ask the public not to share this video.
There will be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days and overnight.
Inspector Andy Lemon, from Wiltshire's Rural Crime team, said: "This was a terrifying incident for both victims and we are treating it extremely seriously.
"We would like to speak with anyone who may have seen or has CCTV footage of a number of 4x4 vehicles travelling through Amesbury, Wilsford and the Woodfords on Saturday night/Sunday morning.
"If you can help with our ongoing investigation, please call 101 quoting crime reference number 54240132617."
If you see hare coursing happening, call 999. More information about wildlife crime and how to report it can be found here: Wildlife crime | Wiltshire Police.
