Salisbury FC have announced changes to its board of directors, with former Chairman Ian Hammond stepping down as a director. He will, however, remain as president of the club.
The departure was announced in a statement from the board of directors on the football club's website.
Also stepping back from her role as director is Amanda Newbery. Amanda had devoted a lot of her time and energy to the club over many years.
In her resignation letter, she stated that she is very “busy outside the club now” but has also said that she will always be available to help SFC in any way she can if needed.
It was reported on the club's website that Salisbury FC Chairman, Ali Alhamad, has replied to Amanda, saying that he is “deeply saddened” by her resignation but appreciates that she does not have as much time to commit to the Club as previously.
Ian Hammond has decided to resign as a Director but will remain as President of the Club. Ian became Club Chairman in 2017 and steered the Whites with a steady hand for over 8 years.
The club said, "All fans owe him a debt of gratitude for his hard work and the financial support he provided to SFC during these years, which enabled the Club to reach the National League South.
"None of us will forget that magical play-off final at Totton!
"Ian will be sorely missed as a Board member, but we will be seeing him at the RayMac on a regular basis.
"A big “thank you” from all of us, Ian."
Meanwhile, Jim Ayres, the club's Business Manager, has been appointed as a Director.
Jim joined the reformed club in the 2015/16 season and has been a member of the back-room staff ever since.
The club said, "His knowledge of “everything Salisbury FC” is second to none.
"We are so pleased that Jim has agreed to join the Board and look forward to working with him in his new position."
Of those involved with the club prior to Ali Alhamad's purchase of the club last summer, only Hilary Billimore remains a director. Dave Phillips, a former chairman of Salisbury FC, was also added to the board of directors last season.
