A 12-year-old boy from Salisbury has completed his 250th junior parkrun.
Lathyn Ashton is the first junior parkrunner to achieve the milestone at the city’s event held in Churchill Gardens.
Lathyn has been taking part in the free 2km since he was five years old, with his parents volunteering regularly.
Lathyn said, “I enjoy parkrun because I enjoy running and it helps improve my endurance for my other sporting activities. I run in all weathers, and I don't mind getting wet, which is good because it rains a lot in the UK!
"I am excited about being the first person to complete 250 junior parkruns here in Churchill Gardens, Salisbury; in fact, 244 of those runs have been here! I recommend anyone who wants to get more active to come and join us.”
To mark Lathyn’s incredible participation, he has earned a special wristband.

Run Director Matt Bosworth says it’s well deserved, “It is wonderful to have our first 250th milestone reached by one of our regular junior parkrunners. It is a phenomenal achievement and one that Lathyn should be hugely proud of.”
The event, organised by volunteers, takes place every Sunday at 9 am and is open to children aged four to fourteen.
