Salisbury is expecting strong winds on Friday as Storm Austen arrives in the UK.
Storm Austen will bring a spell of strong winds, with transport disruption likely and possibly damaging winds in some areas.
Strong west to northwesterly winds will spread across southern parts of England and Wales during Thursday night and into Friday.
Gusts of 50-60 mph are likely, and some coastal or exposed areas could see 70 mph or more; this is more likely over parts of southwest England.
Winds will slowly ease during Friday afternoon.
Local forecasts suggest gusts may reach around 48 mph in Salisbury early on Friday afternoon, with heavy rain also expected.
Strong winds will also bring periods of heavy rain, making travel conditions difficult.
