Wiltshire Police say they are aware of potential plans regarding individuals travelling to South Wiltshire in the coming days to engage in poaching and hare coursing.
Inspector Andy Lemon, our Rural Crime lead, said: “We take this kind of offending incredibly seriously. We have put in place additional resources and patrols, and we are working closely with our colleagues in neighbouring forces to disrupt any activity that takes place.
“I would ask our rural communities to remain vigilant tomorrow and over the course of the week.
“Please keep gates secured and make entrances to land as difficult as possible.
“If you see any suspicious activity, vehicles in unusual locations, or suspected poaching offences, please report it via 999 so we can take the appropriate action.”
