Police in Salisbury have provided an update following a reported incident in St Peter’s Place in Salisbury on Friday evening, in which two children were approached by two men in a car.
Wiltshire Police say that detectives have pursued multiple lines of enquiry and are keeping an open mind about the circumstances.
They added that officers have also conducted enquiries into a similar incident nearby, and having reviewed CCTV footage and spoken to witnesses, they are satisfied that no offences have been committed.
Detective Inspector Eirin Martin said: “We take all such reports very seriously and would encourage anyone with concerns to report them. I would ask the public to refrain from speculation on social media.
“Please be assured that our officers will investigate the circumstances thoroughly and take robust action where needed.”
