A new study reveals that Salisbury Cathedral is the most Instagrammable filming location in The Gentlemen.
The study conducted by the property information site, Property Buyers Today, analysed Instagram hashtag data for The Gentlemen filming locations to uncover which have been tagged the most on the platform by users. Filming locations in seasons one and two have been included in the ranking.
Salisbury Cathedral takes the crown as the most Instagrammable filming location in The Gentlemen, with an impressive 86,729 posts using the hashtag, #salisburycathedral. The cathedral can be seen in season two, with scenes involving Theo James’ Eddie Horniman and Giancarlo Esposito’s Stanley Johnson.
In second place is Printworks in London, with 30,352 posts featuring the hashtag, #printworkslondon. While the venue is not open to the public, Printworks is used as the filming location of the illegal boxing fight in season one.
Loseley Park in Guildford is in third position, with 5,827 Instagram posts using the hashtag, #loseleypark. The Tudor house is a filming location in both seasons, used for grand interiors and countryside, woodland and lakeside scenes.
Badminton House in Gloucestershire ranks fourth, with 3,379 posts featuring its hashtag, #badmintonestate. The Grade I listed stately home serves as Halstead Manor, where Eddie and Freddy were raised, set within the 52,000-acre Badminton Estate.
In fifth place is Magazine London in North Greenwich, London, with a total of 3,266 posts using its hashtag, #magazinelondon. The filming location was used for another boxing fight in season one featuring Jack Glass.
Saif Derzi, founder of Property Buyers Today, commented on the study, “Screen tourism has a real effect on how people see a place. The Gentlemen puts these locations in front of millions of viewers, perhaps inspiring a sightseeing trip or helping to discover where favourite scenes are filmed in the show, with maybe some being right on the doorstep.
“From a property perspective, the show's appeal rests on the houses themselves. Loseley Park and Badminton House aren't just backdrops; they're central to the story, and that kind of exposure tends to filter into how desirable the surrounding areas feel to buyers. We often see interest rise in towns and villages after they appear on screen, particularly among people who hadn't previously considered the area.”
