A man was arrested by police just after lunchtime this afternoon (13/03) outside of a Salisbury Primary School.
The man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH, possessing an offensive weapon and affray following an incident in Pheasant Drive, Salisbury, at midday today.
Two males were reportedly arguing at the location, and one of the men was believed to have a machete.
Police conducted enquiries, and extensive searches were carried out in the local area, which led to the arrest of a man shortly before 1.30 pm.
He has been taken into custody.
While these enquiries were carried out, officers liaised with Old Sarum Primary School staff due to the incident's proximity to the school grounds.
Pupils at the school were kept inside the buildings during lunchtime today, taking their lunch break in their classrooms.
