Blind and partially sighted people are being invited to discover the freedom of tandem cycling at a free taster session in Salisbury this July.
Wiltshire Sight is hosting the event on Saturday 18 July, from 1 pm to 3 pm, at Churchill Gardens, Salisbury.
Participants will enjoy a short tandem ride around the park with the support of experienced volunteer tandem pilots. No previous cycling experience is needed – simply come along and enjoy the experience. Helmets will be provided.
If participants enjoy the session, Charlotte's Tandems may also be able to provide a tandem bicycle on loan, helping them continue cycling beyond the event.
Glenda Prall, Head of Services at Wiltshire Sight, said, "Cycling is something many people think they have to give up after losing their sight, but tandem cycling opens up a whole new opportunity.
"It's a wonderful way to enjoy the outdoors, build confidence and simply have fun. We hope lots of people will come along and give it a try – you might discover a new hobby."
Spaces are limited, so advance booking is essential.
