With Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense set to open the autumn season on Friday, 1st September, Wiltshire Creative has announced their Autumn Season Welcome Morning to be held at Salisbury Playhouse on Saturday, 2nd September.
With free tickets to Jeeves & Wooster in Perfect Nonsense to the first 100 people through the doors, the Wiltshire Creative team are delighted to welcome the community back to the Playhouse to mark the start of their new season. This free community event includes activities for children, insight into programming for the Autumn season, a look at the work Wiltshire Creative does as a charity and opportunities to win tickets for the much-loved pantomime, Dick Whittington!
Highlights of the day will include:
Free tickets to Jeeves & Wooster in Perfect Nonsense for the first 100 people through the doors Free face-painting for children from 10 am-1 pm, a ‘decorate a mask’ creative session and a colouring competition that has a prize of free tickets to our festive pantomime, Dick Whittington A series of presentations, including Artistic Director Gareth Machin and the Wiltshire Creative team discussing highlights of the autumn season; a first look at the set design for Jeeves & Wooster in Perfect Nonsense with behind-the-scenes insight into how it was created and a journey through the Wiltshire Creative archives.This season sees the company increase its work as a producing theatre, with three in-house productions on the Salisbury Playhouse Main Stage.
Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense, a co-production with Octagon Theatre Bolton, opens the autumn season on 5th September with The Girl on the Train - the thriller based on the bestselling novel by Paula Hawkins and DreamWorks’ film running from 19th October – 11th November.
The season culminates with Dick Whittington, which runs from 25th November 2023 – 7th January 2024.
Following the success of last year’s production of Cinderella, which included a UK Pantomime Award for Jasmine Triadi, writing trio Plested, Brown & Wilsher return with another pantomime for the festive season.
