Two Midfielders Join Ray Mac Ranks

Salisbury FC have announced two midfield signings, with Yacou Traore and Jordan Alonge joining ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Alonge, 27, became a free agent in May after departing Scottish Championship side Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Alonge was part of a title-winning campaign during the 2025/26 season, helping his side finish on 69 points and earn a place in the second tier of Scottish football.

The Englishman played 42 times for Inverness CT last season in all competitions, scoring on eight occasions.

Jordan also plied his trade in North America, playing in Canada for Thunder Bay Chill in the USL League 2 after stints at American university sides in 2021-23.

Manager Brian Dutton said, "We are delighted to have Jordan on board. He will add quality, power and physicality to the midfield. Jordan made a real impact in Scotland last season, and we feel he can repeat that with Salisbury this season"

Joining alongside Alonge is 21-year-old Yacou Traore after impressing in pre-season trial matches against Bristol Rovers and Stoke City.

Traore started his career up north in the Middlesbrough youth set-up, playing for both U18 and U21 sides.

The Englishman, born in Paris, played 42 times for Boro in the U18 Premier League in 2021/22 and 2022/23.

After Yacou was promoted to the U21s, he was sent out on a short loan to National League side Wealdstone, making seven appearances for the Stones.

The midfielder (who is also comfortable playing at right-back) then subsequently returned to the North East, playing in the Premier League 2 against the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United U21 sides.

After multiple seasons playing for the Boro youth teams, Yacou decided to make the difficult switch to men's football, signing for Enfield Town in January.

Traore made 17 appearances for the North London side, playing 71 minutes against the Whites in our 2-0 win at the Ray Mac.

Salisbury's Assistant Manager, Callum Hart, said, "We're so pleased to welcome Yacou to Salisbury. He first came to our attention during his youth footballing days at Middlesbrough and also at Enfield Town - so he's not an unknown quantity.

"He fits the profile of what we're after thanks to him being a very dynamic midfielder who can break up play but remain comfortable in possession. We're sure that Yacou caught the eye of many Salisbury supporters who came to watch the pre-season matches against Bristol Rovers and Stoke about the qualities and energy he can bring to the side. We're really looking forward to working with him and showing the supporters what he can do."

Both players featured in Salisbury's 3-1 win away at Wimborne Town on Saturday afternoon. After a goalless first half, the Whites found themselves a goal down in the second half. Brian Dutton's side fought back with goals from Nathan Odonkonyero and Josh Hedges (2) to continue the positive results of pre-season. 

Salisbury play their final away pre-season game this Saturday (25th July) as they travel to Frome Town for a 3 pm kick-off. 

The Whites will complete their pre-season schedule on Friday, 31st July, as they welcome Havant & Waterlooville to the Ray Mac for a 7:45 pm kick-off.
