TJ Brews is a brand new speciality cold brew company that is offering a cold brew for home baristas.
Launched by Katie Johns and Sarah Trebilcock, TJ Brew's mission is to introduce cold brew to a new audience in the UK and increase knowledge and awareness compared to iced coffee.
Cold Brew is a smoother, less acidic, yet more diverse version of iced coffee.
Katie John's, one of the co-founders at TJ Brews, said, "Cold Brew is a smoother, less acidic, yet more diverse version of iced coffee. We offer a variety of syrups, and strengths are available for consumers to have delivered to their door.
"Our one-litre bottle provides them with a minimum of four drinks at home, offering the chance to save money whilst delivering the same barista quality of product, as good, if not better, than the leading brands."
There are three main ways that cold brew differs from regular coffee in regard to how it is made. First, cold brew is brewed with cold water instead of hot.
Second, the brew time is a lot longer. Unlike hot coffee that can be brewed within a few minutes, cold brew takes up to 14 hours.
Thirdly, and most importantly, more flavor is extracted from the coffee beans during the brewing process than it is during hot brewing.
The pair have been working alongside the well-respected coffee supplier Flat-Cap Coffee and formulated a secret ration of beans to ensure a unique signature blend that is explicitly roasted to be steeped cold.
Katie continued, "Cold Brew is an ideal product for cafes and local farm shops who are looking to expand their current range."
Wholesale is an area the company is looking to grow in and Katie and Sarah say they are exploring options to work alongside other local businesses in the area.
