Salisbury FC Board Issues Open Letter announcing new investment

The board and shareholders of Salisbury FC have issued an open letter to the club's supporters, announcing new investment coming into the club.

Open Letter from the Directors and Shareholders of Salisbury FC

"We would like to inform our supporters, volunteers, sponsors, and the wider Salisbury community about the exciting new development at Salisbury FC.

"The current Board of Directors have recognised we have reached the limits of what we can sustainably achieve at this level of the game. Competing financially in the National League South (and potentially above) requires a new level of investment and resourcing. Rather than allow the club to stagnate or fall backwards, we felt it was the right time to pass the baton to new leadership who can take Salisbury FC into the next chapter of its story.

"We are incredibly proud of all that has been achieved during our time, both on and off the pitch. None of which would have been possible without the tireless dedication of our staff, players, volunteers, sponsors, and most importantly, you — the club’s supporters.

"After careful consideration, the current board of directors and shareholders have decided to transfer the club’s ownership to a new investor, pending approval from the National League and the FA.

"This decision has not been taken lightly. Over the past few months, we have undertaken a thorough due diligence process, in conjunction with the National League and the FA, to ensure that any transition of ownership is handled with the utmost care and attention.  Our priority throughout has been to secure a future for the club that protects its values and unlocks new opportunities for growth and success.

"This process has seen extensive conversations and careful analysis, during which we explored multiple investment options. We are confident that the new investor will be an excellent custodian of Salisbury FC and will bring exciting plans and the ambition to drive the club forward in a sustainable manner.

"As part of the process of introducing you to the new investor, a fans’ forum event has been arranged. This event will be held in the Sarum Suite at the Ray Mac on Monday, 23rd June, at 7 pm. This will enable us to introduce the new investor and allow supporters to hear from him directly, with time to ask any questions they may have.

"All further updates will be provided via the club’s website and social media to ensure that supporters, represented by the Supporters Club, are fully engaged in the preparations for the future, particularly next season, which is fast approaching.

"Finally, thank you for your loyalty, passion, and belief in Salisbury FC. We look forward, just as you do, to seeing what the future holds for the club."

Ian Hammond, Jeremy Harwood, Amanda Newbery, Hilary Billimore, David Phillips
