Salisbury Councillor Alan Bayliss resigns from Wiltshire & Salisbury Councils

Councillor Alan Bayliss has resigned from his role as councillor for Salisbury Milford, stepping down with immediate effect for personal reasons.

Cllr Ian Thorn, Leader of Wiltshire Council, said: "On behalf of the council, I would like to thank Alan for his contribution to the work of the council and support to the residents of Salisbury Milford. We respect his decision to step down and wish him well for the future."

Wiltshire Council said in a statement, "As a vacancy has now arisen in the Salisbury Milford division, arrangements will be made for a by-election to be held in accordance with the relevant electoral requirements.

"Further details, including the date of the by-election, will be announced in due course."

It has also been confirmed that Mr Bayliss has also resigned from his position as a Salisbury City Councillor.
