Planning is underway for the upcoming series of community-led celebrations of the 800th anniversary of Salisbury's City Charter.

The programme of events will include proposals from local individuals, community groups, and independent organisations, ensuring the celebrations truly reflect the spirit of the city.

To facilitate coordination of the celebrations, a small Project Board comprising key local partners has been formed. This Board is working collaboratively to ensure the programme runs smoothly and that as many community-led initiatives as possible are included.

Organisers are still encouraging the submission of new event ideas, workshops, and activities.

"These celebrations are all about our community. We want everyone to have the opportunity to be involved in some way, however small, by contributing to an event, volunteering to help or by being a part of the audience. It will be an opportunity to look back on Salisbury's 800 years, rejoice in the creativity of our city and to look forward to its future." said Susi Mason, Project Lead. "We are thrilled by the enthusiasm and collaboration we’ve seen so far, and we urge groups and individuals to continue submitting their ideas so we can build a truly unforgettable programme."

Further details on the event lineup, participating venues, and celebration dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
