Wiltshire Police have issued a warning after reports of a small team of driveway and patio cleaners engaging in cold-calling activities locally.
They say there have been reports from residents in Firsdown, Laverstock and Alderbury.
In a post on Facebook, Wiltshire Police wrote, "This team has approached residents using assertive yet courteous sales tactics in an effort to secure work. Unfortunately, the services they provide tend to be priced exorbitantly, often amounting to approximately £500 for a minimal amount of cleaning.
"We strongly advise against entertaining any door-to-door trade sales and we encourage all community members to look out for elderly neighbours and family members.
"Should you witness any concerning incidents, please report them to the following email address: SalisburyAreaNPT@wiltshire.police.uk, or report online: http://www.wiltshire.police.uk/.../af/how-to-report-a-crime/. If you see a crime happening, please call 999."
