Parents and pupils from schools across Salisbury and South Wiltshire assembled on the playing fields of Wyvern St Edmunds and St Joseph's schools in Laverstock for the Annual Mini-Marathon event.
Around 1350 runners took to the course up onto Laverstock Downs, with runners competing in one of five races.
Pupils in Years 3 and 4 took part in races over 1900m, whilst pupils in Years 5 and 6, as well as the adults, took on the slightly longer 2300m course.
A perfect set was completed by Leo Elkington of St. Mark's Junior School, running for the fourth time, winning for the fourth time, and finishing strongly to have won each race he has competed in since his first race whilst in Year 3.
Michael Becket won a very competitive adult's race, which also featured runners in fancy dress.
The event, organised by a committee made up of teachers and staff from local primary schools, was led by Winterbourne Earls Primary's head teacher, Phillippa Carter. Every race started on time, with an encouraging atmosphere, with thousands of people spectating and participating in the event.
