Longleat’s infamous monkeys are up to no good once again, but this time, they’ve learnt an interesting new skill.
The Wiltshire estate’s rhesus macaques are well known for their cheeky activities in the Monkey Drive-Thru, particularly when it comes to claiming their favourite car parts.
However, Longleat’s keepers have noticed a suspicious lack of parts turning up lately, so senior keeper Ian Turner went to investigate.
Ian said: “In over 50 years of working here, I’ve never noticed such a lack of car parts turning up, so we knew something must be happening.
“We went down to Monkey Drive-Thru, and they were acting very suspiciously. Next thing we know, there’s a remote-control car racing around.
“Who knew monkeys were mechanics and using parts in other ways?”
