Local people honoured in the New Year Honours List

Several local people have been recognised for their contributions in the King's New Year Honours List.

Lieutenant Colonel (Rtd) David Ian Whimpenny receives an OBE for his services to Voluntary Service with the Royal British Legion.

Former Salisbury Mayor and Councillor Penelope Jane Brown receives an MBE for services to Charity and to the community in Salisbury.

Belinda Ann Winstone, a Team Leader at the Army Bereavement and Aftercare Services, receives an MBE for services to Military Families.

Hilary Mary Jenkins receives a BEM for services to the community in Wiltshire, particularly during Covid-19.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said: “The New Year’s Honours list recognises the exceptional achievements of people across the country and those who have shown the highest commitment to selflessness and compassion.
