Larmer Tree Festival cancelled for 2022

A Salisbury-based festival on the Wiltshire-Dorset border has announced it won't be going ahead in 2022.

The music, comedy, and arts festival which is usually held annually at the Larmer Tree Gardens will not go ahead next year, as organisers say the event "has always operated on tight margins and we can’t afford to take huge risks".

Described as "one of the most family-friendly festivals around", since 1991 the event has been popular with local residents, and those further afield, with lineups featuring the likes of Tom Jones, Jake Bugg, Jack Savoretti, Kate Tempest, and Jools Holland.

In a statement posted on social media, the organisers said, "Please excuse the radio silence from the Larmer Tree team. We have been considering what Larmer Tree Festival means and what it could be in the future. This is a hard task made a lot harder by the uncertainty caused by Covid disruption to suppliers and contractors.

"Larmer Tree has always operated on tight margins and we can’t afford to take huge risks, so we have decided not to have a festival in 2022."

"We want to get everything just right for the community and the Larmer Tree Family and we hope to come back in 2023 in some form, reinvigorated and re-inspired.

"In the meantime, we wish you a safe and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."
