Wiltshire Council are introducing a booking scheme at the Household Recycling Centre in Salisbury from Monday, 14th September.
The phased rollout of a booking system was first announced in December, along with Wiltshire Council's proposals for three-weekly bin collections.
Wiltshire Council says, "A booking system helps us manage traffic flow, reduce waiting times, and cut emissions. It's a proactive step to make visits quicker, safer, and more efficient for everyone. "
From Monday 14 September, you will need a booking before visiting Salisbury's Household Recycling Centre on Churchfields Industrial Estate.
The booking system opens on Tuesday, 8 September, with local residents being required to visit https://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/bookhrc to pre-book their visit.
Bookings can be made up to 7 days in advance, including same-day bookings (subject to availability).
The council say that bookings are for one single visit only. If you need to make multiple trips to empty your vehicle, you must book a separate slot for each additional journey. We are also warned that if you arrive without a booking, you may be turned away.
A date for booking slots at Amesbury Household Recycling Centre is yet to be announced.
