At a meeting on 6th December 2023, Amesbury Town Council agreed on its budget and Precept charge for 2023/24.
The charge for a Band D property has been set at £139.70 for the year, an increase on last year’s charge of £11.45, or 96 pence/month.
Mayor of Amesbury, Damian Kuczera, said “At a time where cost of living rises are affecting both our residents and the Town Council, the finance committee was very conscious of keeping the forthcoming year’s budget as low as possible, so as not to adversely affect residents.
"This year’s budget has been many weeks in the making and represents a lot of hard work on the Town Council’s part, having listened to residents over the last year and factored in their wishes for the forthcoming year.
"I’m very pleased that this year’s increase is below the rate of inflation and that Amesbury once again enjoys one of the lowest Town Council Precepts in the county whilst enabling us to continue improving the services and facilities we provide for residents.”
