Wiltshire Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses following an incident in the Mill Lane area of Stratford Sub Castle at around 11 am on Thursday, 1st June.
A police spokesperson said, "Investigators would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time.
"We would particularly like to hear from a woman who was walking along the footpath shortly after the incident. She is described as being in her 20s and was wearing a grey dress.
"Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call us on 101 quoting log 54230057343.
William Thomas, 28, of Macklin Road, has been charged with attempted rape, committing assault occasioning actual bodily harm with the intent to commit a sexual offence and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before court on 5 July.
