Wiltshire has been selected as a core pilot area in a new government initiative to improve support for domestic abuse victims.
The scheme is backed by £5 million in funding and will focus on helping victims navigate the Crown Court process.
Under the plans, victims will be offered the chance to meet prosecutors before trial to better understand what to expect.
Additional specialist liaison officers will also be introduced to provide more consistent and personalised support.
The pilot will build on existing services such as the Horizon Victim and Witness Care Service.
Philip Wilkinson says the project will help create a more compassionate and joined-up approach for victims.
Local agencies, including the Crown Prosecution Service, are working together to deliver the scheme.
Officials say the pilot could help shape how victim support is provided across the country in future.
