Salisbury's winless start to the season continued on Saturday following a draw away at newly promoted Horsham in the National League South.
A goal from Mike Atikinson had given Salisbury a lead at the interval, but the home side fought back and equalised late on through Reece Meekums.
It only took Brian Dutton's side 13 minutes to get their noses ahead when Mike Atkinson struck from distance to give the Whites the lead. The ball fell for the midfielder in the middle of the Horsham half, he took one touch and then let fly from 35 yards high into the back of the net.
Despite the home side enjoying much of the first half possession, they didn't cause too many threats on Salisbury's goal, and Salisbury led by a single goal to nil at the interval.
Again, it was Horsham who saw much of the ball. Salisbury keeper Will Buse was called into action early in the second half, first saving from Charlie Hester-Cook and then following up with a second save from the rebound effort.
A moment of real quality saw the homeside level with just eight minutes left in the 90. Some good skill from Reece Meekums got him into the Salisbury box before he curled past Buse into the bottom corner.
Salisbury's chances of getting something from the game when Jack Brivo was shown a red card for a stamp on Noah Coppin, however, despite having much of the ball, Brian Dutton's side had to settle for a point on the road.
The draw leaves the Whites without a win in the first six league games of the season and only out of the relegation places on goal difference.
Their next match is tomorrow away at Worthing, which looks like a tricky place to get that first win of the season. The West Sussex side have reached the play-offs for the past two seasons. Worthing, too, haven't had the best of starts to the season, but it will be a tough test for Salisbury.
