The West Dean Village Fete is this Saturday (31st May 2025), which starts with a grand opening by the Romsey Old Cadets band, marching through the village.
The event starts at 1pm and continues until 5pm.
As well as the Romsey Old Cadets Band, other musical entertainment is provided by the Frontline Ukulele band, The Navy Larks (sea shanty), Romsey Rock Choir along with the King John’s Morris Men.
In the main arena visitors to the West Dean Village Fete will see a falconry display, get to watch the Tug of War as well as "many other attractions".
Children are invited to spend time in their Art and Craft tent, have a go at archery, take part in the children’s races or just relax and watch Juggling Jake perform his amazing circus skills.
Organisers say dogs are welcome as there will be a dog show. They add, "For a quiet break pop along to the tea and cake zone or pop into our quiet tent. Other attractions include Fly-by by a Douglas C47 Dakota, ponies, sheep, cake stall, Tombola, music zone, book stall, Silent auction, Second hand clothes and more."
Food and drink is available throughout the event.
Occupying almost the entire village, organisers encourage people to "Come by car or catch the train to Dean station on the Salisbury to Romsey line".
Their post code is SP5 1JQ.
Fete entry is free for children under 16 and £3 per adult.
