Two drug dealers have been jailed after being found with a large quantity of heroin and cocaine in a Salisbury car park.
On 23rd September 2020, officers from our Operation Fortitude team found Joel Wilson and Joshua Scott in the car park on Pembroke Road with a burner mobile phone and £585 in cash. They were alerted after seeing Wilson squatting down, trying to conceal an item in his body.
While in custody, a strip search of Scott found a quantity of cocaine and heroin while Wilson was later found to have over 100 wraps of heroin and 50 wraps of crack cocaine.
The Fortitude team, which is dedicated to tackling Wiltshire's most prolific and serious offenders, then analysed the phone and found it was being used to advertise drugs to known users in the Salisbury area.
At a hearing at Winchester Crown Court last Wednesday (8th September), Scott was sentenced to two years and four months for being concerned in the supply of cocaine and heroin as well as one month for possession of cannabis. Wilson was sentenced to two years and eight months.
Detective Sergeant Darren Penny from Wiltshire Police's Fortitude team said:
“Drug dealers like Wilson and Scott bring misery and violence to our community so it’s pleasing to see they’ve been given a custodial sentence.
“Our team worked hard to gather intelligence on the pair and we’ll continue our work to disrupt and break the operations that they’re involved in.
“This conviction sends out the message that we’re committed to eradicating this type of behaviour and keeping our community safe".
