The Stars Appeal, Salisbury Hospital’s Charity, is looking for adventurous supporters to take on a 100km Sahara Desert trek challenge in Morocco.
Budding trekkers are encouraged to reserve one of the last few places for an information evening in Salisbury on Tuesday, October 20, where they can find out about trekking, training and fundraising.
The Sahara Desert Trek is the charity's seventh fundraising trek and takes place in February 2028. Participants will hike for six long, hot days across sand dunes, rocky desert terrain and salt flats.
Every trekker is asked to raise at least £2,000 for the Stars Appeal, as well as paying their own trekking costs to the challenge organisers, Discover Adventure.
The money raised will help towards the £2 million the Stars Appeal aims to raise every year to fund projects across Salisbury Hospital. These include new equipment, building enhancements, and ongoing projects across the hospital, including support for people with cancer, a dedicated play assistant on the Children’s Unit, and Stars Appeal Wi-Fi.
Sign up for the trek information evening at www.starsappeal.org/events or call 01722 429005.
