A Tidworth resident has been fined after illegally dumping household waste in the Stonehenge area.
Wiltshire Council issued two fixed penalty notices totalling £2000 after environmental enforcement officers linked the individual to two separate fly tipping incidents using camera footage.
The investigation began after an incident in January where footage captured the person disposing of items including black bags of household waste and chairs.
The waste was left less than 2 miles from the nearest household recycling centre.
Officers later linked a second fly tip to the same person, leading to further enforcement action.
The person has paid both £1000 fines in full.
The case formed part of Operation Barn Owl, a council led initiative launched in 2025 to prevent and investigate illegal waste dumping across the Salisbury Plain Training Area.
Councillor Martin Smith said fly tipping is “completely unacceptable” and warned the council will continue using cameras and enforcement measures to identify offenders and protect local communities.
