A third person has been charged in connection with an incident at Stonehenge on June 19th, when an orange substance was thrown at the stones.

Luke Watson, 35, of Manuden, Bishop's Stortford, has been charged with one count of aiding, abetting, counselling and procuring destroying or damaging an ancient protected monument and one count of aiding, abetting, counselling and/or procuring causing a public nuisance.

He is due to appear at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on December 13th for a first hearing.

Mr Watson joins Rajan Naidu, 73, of Gosford Street, Birmingham, and Niamh Lynch, 22, of Norfolk Road, Bedford, who were charged last week.

Stonehenge was vandalised by protestors at around noon on the eve of the Summer Solstice celebrations. Protestors sprayed orange paint on some of the landmark's stones.

At the time, Just Stop Oil said they were "Demanding that the incoming UK government commit to working with other governments to agree an equitable plan to end the extraction and burning of oil, gas and coal by 2030."
