On Wednesday, 17th December, St Thomas’s Salisbury was once again at standing room only for the ever-popular ‘Carols for Busy People’.
The lunchtime opportunity, which enables working people to visit, sing favourite carols, and hear the Christmas story, has become a regular, much-loved event in the Salisbury community.
This celebration is also an appropriate occasion for the presentation of funds raised by this year’s Christmas Tree Festival to this year’s two chosen charities. This year, Julia’s House and Clouds House were each the recipients of an £8,379.18 donation.
The 2025 Christmas Tree Festival was visited by over 12,000 people, not only from the local community but from throughout the UK, and even some from far-flung areas of the world, including Vancouver, Canada, to Victoria, Australia.
As usual, the event was enhanced by the performances of over 1,000 local musicians who made a wonderful contribution to the spectacle.
In all, the festival raised over £25,000, an outstanding result that was a heartening reminder of the continued generosity of the local community and of all who visit the Christmas Tree Festival.
