Art lovers, collectors and curious bargain hunters are being invited to take part in a unique fundraising event this summer, with funds raised being donated to Wardour Primary School.
Those purchasing postcards have the chance to own an original artwork by a celebrated artist or celebrity for just £50.
The Secret Postcard Sale, taking place at Messums West in Tisbury on Saturday 18th July 2026, will feature more than 500 original postcard-sized artworks donated by renowned artists, celebrities, parents, friends and pupils of Wardour Primary School.
Among the contributors are acclaimed landscape painter Tim Scott Bolton, artist Ollie Akers-Douglas, painter Hugo Grenville and respected Wiltshire artist Tom Hoar, with further celebrity contributors expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Returning for the first time since 2018, the Secret Postcard Sale is expected to attract art lovers and supporters from across Wiltshire and beyond.
The twist? Every artwork will be exhibited anonymously, with signatures hidden on the reverse until after purchase. Visitors won't know whether they have secured a piece by a celebrated artist, a well-known personality or a talented local pupil until they turn it over.
All postcards will be sold for £50, making this a rare opportunity to own an original piece of art while supporting a worthy local cause.
Funds raised from the sale will help create a new creative arts and music space at Wardour CE Primary School, while also providing a dedicated quiet area for children with special educational needs.
Event organiser and local parent Chloë Luxton said, "This is such a special event because it brings together established artists, celebrities, families and children for one shared purpose. Whether you're an art collector or simply looking for a beautiful piece to take home, every purchase will help create inspiring new spaces for the children at Wardour Primary School.
"The excitement comes from not knowing whose artwork you've bought until after you've made your selection. It's a wonderful way to discover new artists, support the local community and potentially take home something truly extraordinary.
“We are incredibly grateful to every artist, celebrity, parent, friend and pupil who has donated a postcard so generously. The response has been overwhelming and is a wonderful reflection of the creativity, kindness and community spirit that exists across Wiltshire and beyond.”
The event is being hosted by Messums West, which has generously donated its Long Gallery to showcase the collection. The venue will display more than 500 postcards, creating a striking exhibition that visitors can browse ahead of the sale.
A preview evening will take place on Friday, 17th July, giving visitors the opportunity to view the artworks before the sale opens the following morning.
With demand expected to be high and all artworks sold on a first-come, first-served basis, organisers are encouraging visitors to arrive early.
