During LGBT History month (February 2022) The Salisbury Pride UK Facebook page was subjected to a malicious cyber-attack.
The hack meant that event organisers lost access to the Facebook page.
According to the organisers, after contacting Facebook support and appealing about the attack, Facebook stated that the page did not meet the community guidelines and therefore would not be restored.
Since 2019, Facebook has been the main communication platform for the Salisbury Pride team, using it to advertise the Salisbury Pride Festival and other fundraising events.
A spokesperson said, "We have to accept that we will have to start over again and it’s important that we share resources and information together. We ask for your support by following, liking and sharing with your followers. Thank you for the continuous support."
The new Facebook page name is Offical Salisbury Pride UK and can be found here.
