Rafa Ramos has agreed terms to join Salisbury FC after leading the line for Gosport Borough last season.
The striker, who has also had spells at Hamworthy United and Bashley, joins after impressing the management team in his appearances against Salisbury last season, scoring both goals in the FA Trophy tie in October last year.
After a slow start at Gosport, he found his shooting boots as the season went on, hitting a hat-trick against Didcot in March.
Brian Dutton is glad to get one of his targets signed early: ”I’m delighted to secure the big man Rafa Ramos for next season. He was a player we came up against on four occasions last season for Gosport Borough, and he was a thorn in our side each time.
“He adds a different dimension to our attack, being 6ft 3 and very powerful, and he scored 28 goals in all competitions last season, which is a fantastic return.
I’m sure the Salisbury fans will welcome him and enjoy his contribution next season.”
Rafa Ramos said on signing for Salisbury, “I feel like Salisbury is a club going in the right direction. After speaking with the Gaffer, he sold me Salisbury very well, so I feel like it was the right move.
“The fans make a big difference; of course, I had that at Gosport as well. After playing here a few times, I loved the atmosphere here; I am looking forward to that as well.”
