Rosko still rules the waves.

Legendary radio DJ ‘Emperor Rosko’ will be joining local radio station Salisbury Radio in September.

Listeners may be familiar with the former Radio One and Radio Luxembourg DJ who joins the local station at the end of April. Rosko was one of the UK’s most frantic and energic DJs in the 1960s and 1970s who was also heard on offshore ‘pirate’ radio station Radio Caroline.

Born in Los Angeles, he is the son of Hollywood film producer Joe Pasternak and is well-known for his hosted briefly hosting Crackerjack on BBC TV with Little & Large and countless appearances as the host of ‘Top of the Pops’.

His Friday night programme is called ‘LA Connection’ where he brings the music of the Golden State to Hampshire.

Rosko will be reading out the latest Hollywood news and the Hollyweird, the latest music news and those things that can ‘only happen in America’. He will also be playing music from the past six decades.

If you have seen the Richard Curtis movie ‘The Boat That Rocked’, you’ll recognise Rosko as the inspiration for the character called ‘The Count’ played by the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.
