The Rockbourne Early Christmas Fair has celebrated another record-breaking year after raising £68,191 for the Stars Appeal, Salisbury Hospital’s Charity.
The team of volunteers, who organise the annual event, presented the incredible sum raised to hospital staff and were joined by Mr Graham Branagan, Consultant Surgeon and Chair of the Clinical Ambassadors.
Rockbourne Fair is a three-day shopping event which takes place in October at Salisbury Racecourse. The amount raised last year, the event’s 37th year, surpasses the record-breaking £62,081 raised in 2024.
Bev Moulding, Chair of the Rockbourne Fair Committee, said: “The Rockbourne Fair team and I are absolutely delighted and incredibly proud to have raised such an amazing, record-breaking amount once again. The generosity shown by our community has been truly heart-warming, and every penny raised will help support Salisbury District Hospital and the local people it cares for. Thank you to our wonderful stallholders, sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who came along to support the fair. Rockbourne Fair is one of the longest-running independent charity fairs in the South West, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back in October 2026.”
As part of the presentation, the Rockbourne Fair team visited the Stars Appeal Breast Unit where they were told about the charity’s work maintaining and enhancing the environment, providing the very latest diagnostic and treatment equipment, as well as funding extras that make time in hospital more comfortable including the Stars Appeal aromatherapist, free hot and cold drinks, and snacks during chemotherapy treatment.
Mr Graham Branagan added: “Our sincere congratulations to Bev and the Rockbourne Fair team on this outstanding achievement. The work of the Stars Appeal is only possible thanks to the generosity of our local community, and this wonderful event is a shining example of that support in action. The funds raised will help us continue making a real difference to the lives of thousands of patients, their families, and the dedicated staff who care for them at Salisbury Hospital. Thank you to everyone who supported the fair and helped make it another record-breaking year.”
Funds raised by the fair help the Stars Appeal fund state-of-the-art equipment, enhancements to buildings, and its ongoing projects across the hospital, which include support for people with cancer, play therapy equipment and a dedicated play assistant on the Children’s Unit, and Stars Appeal Wi-Fi.
Rockbourne Early Christmas Fair returns to Salisbury Racecourse from Wednesday, October 14th, to Friday, October 16th, with over 100 handpicked stallholders from across the UK offering homeware, fashion, jewellery, cosmetics, gourmet food, and unique gifts.
