Wiltshire Police have issued a warning about rogue traders operating in more rural parts of the area, including Newton Tony and Shrewton.
Police said in a statement, "In the last few weeks, we have had reports of Rogue Traders in the rural areas of Amesbury, particularly in Newton Tony, Shrewton and Winterbourne Dauntsey. Regardless of where you live, please see the below advice:
- Keep all doors and windows locked, even when you’re at home.
- Do not engage with doorstep traders.
- Legitimate traders will never pressure you into making quick decisions.
- Report any suspicious behaviour to the police on 101, or 999 in an emergency.
"Please share this message with neighbours, friends, and family, especially those who may be more vulnerable.
"If you would like a 'no cold calling' sticker on your door, please email the local neighbourhood policing team inbox: AmesburyAreaNPT@wiltshire.police.uk"
