New Cherry Trees planted at Victoria Park

10 new Cherry Trees have been planted at Victoria Park following a donation from Salisbury Rotary Club.

The Cheery Trees were donated to celebrate The Rotary Club’s 100 years of supporting international, national and local communities and to provide a permanent gift to the people of Salisbury.

The Club contacted Salisbury City Council last year with their donation and the Parks Team decided that Victoria Park would be the ideal location for the trees. They were planted by Salisbury City Council’s Parks Team together with a plaque.

The Cherry’s Prunus Kanzan have been planted in the centre of the park close to the Kiosk and play area which will offer shade in the summer months for people to relax and enjoy their picnics.

The Mayor of Salisbury, Cllr Caroline Corbin said, “Thank you to Salisbury Rotary Club for donating these beautiful trees. I look forward to watching them bloom as they produce clusters of pink flowers which will give a lovely display in the heart of the park each Spring.”
