A man has been left in a life-threatening condition following a serious assault in Salisbury in the early hours of Sunday morning (20th February 2022).
Officers responded to the incident along with the ambulance service at approximately 3am on New Canal.
The police understand that an altercation, involving a group of around 15 men, took place with the victim suffering a serious head injury. They were then taken to hospital.
The victim’s family have been informed and are being provided specialist support from our officers.
The police are now appealing for witnesses.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said, "Our enquiries, including checking all local CCTV, are ongoing, but we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or any taxi drivers who may have picked up people from this location shortly after the assault took place.
"We’d also like to speak to anyone who may have dash cam footage from the area from before, during or after the time of this incident that could assist officers with their enquiries.
