A man has died, and a second man has suffered potentially life-changing injuries following a collision on the A303 near Tisbury yesterday afternoon (30th April).
In a statement, Wiltshire Police said, "At around 3.35 pm, an Audi A4 travelling eastbound on the single carriageway section of the A303 at Chilmark collided head-on with a second vehicle, a Volkswagen Caravelle, travelling in the other direction.
"The driver of the Audi, a man in his 80s, was sadly declared dead at the scene.
"The driver of the Volkswagen, a man in his 30s, suffered serious leg injuries and has been taken to hospital.
"A passenger in the Volkswagen, a woman in her 20s, suffered minor injuries.
"The road was closed overnight and has since reopened.
"Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have a dash cam are asked to contact the serious collision investigation team on 01225 694597, quoting log number 194 of yesterday’s date.
