Man from Collingbourne Ducis has been sentenced for threats to kill

A man from Collingbourne Ducis has been sentenced to nine months in prison, suspended for two years, for making threats to kill.

Dean Hewitt, 35, of Tidworth Road, appeared at Salisbury Crown Court on May 14th and pleaded guilty to malicious communication and threats to kill.

Between December 30th, 2023, and December 31st, 2023, sent messages to the victim threatening to kill her and her unborn child after a cocaine and alcohol-fueled binge.

Dean Hewitt was sentenced to nine months in prison, suspended for two years, for the offences. He was also ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work and 12 sessions with Turning Point.

PC Nic Blake said, "We take reports of this nature very seriously, and threats of violence towards women are unacceptable.

"I would urge anyone who is being threatened to reach out and tell someone. If you do not want to report the incident to police, there are support agencies that can help you. You are not alone."
