A man arrested following an incident on Mill Lane in Stratford Sub Castle last week has now been charged.
William Thomas, 28, of Macklin Road in Salisbury, has been charged with attempted rape, committing assault occasioning actual bodily harm with the intent to commit a sexual offence and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
He has been remanded in custody to appear before Salisbury Magistrates Court today (Monday, 5th June).
On Thursday at around 11 am, Police were called to Mill Lane, Stratford sub-Castle in response to a reported assault on a teenage girl.
