The Grasmere Hotel in Harnham, Salisbury, has undergone a five million pound transformation to become a contemporary manor house hotel.
The project was taken on by the hotel group 777 Hotels Ltd, who invested in the 6-month refurbishment programme to create a new, 38-bedroom boutique hotel.
Last night (Wednesday 25th May 2022), the new Riverside Hotel was revealed to the public at a launch party which was attended by the Mayor of Salisbury, Tom Corbin.
Riverside Hotel promises, “the most exquisite leisure spaces, décor, and furniture amid an oasis of garden and riverside charm, and impeccable service.”
The hotel also offers a space for events, comfortably seating 100 guests for wedding breakfasts, anniversaries, and parties.
The function room has its own bar and opens out onto the elevated terrace which overlooks one of Salisbury's five rivers accompanied by views of Salisbury Cathedral.
General manager and company director Kerry Bowley said, “It has been a real pleasure working on the Riverside over the past months, with our professional team, knowing what potential it had, and watching it transform into such an impressive hotel.”
Tom Corbin, Mayor of Salisbury added, “It’s a pleasure to be here for the launch event of the Riverside Hotel. It is a boutique hotel which will help provide wonderful facilities for people visiting the city and wanting to enjoy our city for an extended stay. It provides a wonderful setting with wonderful views of the cathedral too.”
Both guests and non-guests are welcome to dine in the hotel’s new brasserie-style restaurant or enjoy a drink in the south-facing ‘Mark’s Bar’.
Riverside say that their team of 35 staff have worked hard alongside contractors to be ready for the opening and now awaits welcoming the very first guests.
