IN PICTURES: Dance, theatre and circus take over Salisbury city centre

Over the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend, Wiltshire Creative's 'City Encounters' took over Salisbury for a weekend of theatre, dance and circus.

Salisbury city centre came alive with free to see original street theatre, dance and spectacle for all the family as part of Wiltshire Creative's Salisbury International Arts Festival.

Performances included the Big Gay Disco Bike which saw drag icon Fatt Butcher take to the Old George Mall on a golden disco bike.

'Timeless' took place in the Market Square exploring the theme of the passing of time. The unique performance took place on a 7m high rotating hourglass, to tell the story of civilisation and its fragile relationship with time and nature.

'Look Mum No Hands' came to the Guildhall Square to tell a tender tale about friendship and growing up.

The show used a combination of theatre, movement and acrobatics as a powerful narrative tool.

Finally, 'No Mans Land' took place in The Maltings. The outdoor aerial site-specific performance was directed and performed by a monster.

Salisbury International Arts Festival continues until the 18th of June with various performances of theatre, dance, spoken word and music taking place across the city.
